BOO AT THE ZOO SCARES UP FAMILY FUN IN OCTOBER

One Night and Two Daytime Halloween Events at the Zoo

Denver Zoo offers a weekend of spook-tacular events at its family friendly Boo At The Zoo After Dark on the evening of October 26 and Boo At The Zoo during the daytime October 27 and 28, presented by your Neighborhood Toyota Stores. Guests of the events will not only enjoy trick-or-treat stations and family-friendly entertainment, but will also learn why it's important to save the planet's more endangered species through the story of "Yesterday's Zoo."

Boo At The Zoo After Dark offers guests an exclusive, evening event at the zoo to celebrate Halloween early. Kids and their families are welcome to dress up in their favorite Halloween costume and enjoy full-size treats, up-close animal encounters and interactive booths for the kids. Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for children. Tickets will not be available at the door and this event usually sells out. Visit www.denverzoo.org to purchase tickets or for more information.

The 28th annual Boo At The Zoo will be held October 27-28 at the zoo during normal hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event includes more than 25 trick-or-treat stations, creepy crawly demonstrations and other exciting family entertainment and is included with regular zoo admission. Guests should purchase their tickets now to avoid long lines on Saturday, October 27 or Sunday, October 28. Visit www.denverzoo.org to purchase tickets or for more information.

New to this year's event will be the story of "Yesterday's Zoo." This is a story about many extinct animals in our planet's history which illustrates why it's important to save endangered species. Guests of Boo at the Zoo will meet the story's mascot, the Thing, and find large pages of Yesterday's Zoo throughout Denver Zoo.

Young goblins, ghosts, princesses and zooperheros will experience child-friendly trick or treating while enjoying magic shows and wild animal encounters in Denver Zoo's 80 acres of animal habitats home to more than 3,800 animal residents. Kids can get up close and personal with creepy, Halloween creatures like vampire bats, spiders and reptiles. In the spirit of having a green Halloween, Denver Zoo encourages kids to bring their own reusable bags or buckets to collect treats and instead of purchasing new costumes visit their local thrift shop to find used clothing for this year's costumes.

Parking fills up quickly on these popular days at Denver Zoo. Visitors can avoid the search for a precious parking spot and be a hero for the planet by choosing alternative means to get to Boo at the Zoo. Guests that bike or ride RTD to the zoo will receive $2 off admission, valid for Boo At The Zoo daytime admission only. Coupons are given at the bike racks and guests can receive their discount by showing their RTD transfer slip or light rail ticket at the box office.
