Ambassador Animal Encounter

We are now offering a new Up-Close Animal Encounter! Be among the first to experience this 30-minute long Ambassador Animal Encounter, where you’ll get face-to-face with some of the animal ambassadors that you might already know and love from the Wildlife Show, like a tamandua, parrot or porcupine. The Ambassador Animal Encounter is an interactive and hands-on tour that’s great for all-ages! This new year-round program is currently being offered on Thursday in January through April and takes place at the Wildlife Theatre. Click here for more information and to register.

  • This encounter is open to guests of all ages.  Please purchase an encounter ticket for children ages 1 and older.  
  • Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a paid participant that is 16 years of age or older. 
  • Program registration does not include admission to Denver Zoo- admission tickets must be purchased separately.  Purchasing zoo admission, in addtion to an encounter ticket, is not required for children under 3.
  • Ambassador Animal Encounter will occur rain or shine.
  • Denver Zoo reserves the right to re-route or cancel any tour due to animal health or safety concerns. In the event of cancellation, efforts will be made to reschedule you on a later date.
  • Cancellation Policy: A cancellation fee of 50% will be charged for cancelling with less than two weeks’ notice. A cancellation fee of 100% will be charged for a missed adventure.
  • You must check in at Guest Services 15 minutes prior to the start time of your encounter. The behind the scenes nature of this experience makes joining the group late not possible.
  • There is limited access for service animals in the behind-the-scenes areas. Please call 720-337-1400 to confirm.
