Schools, Scouts and Other Group Overnights: Bunk with the Beasts & CampOUTs

Bring your group to spend a night at Denver Zoo! Each bunk overnight adventure features different activities geared toward different themes. Scout groups can earn their badges and schools can help make curriculum come alive! You and your group will explore the Zoo and its exhibits, learn about different animals, and participate in games and activities. 

Program Information

School Group Bunk with the Beasts (year round)

Africa: Predator vs. Prey (1st – 3rd Grade)

Your zoo safari will bring you face to face with predator and prey! Discover their adaptations for tracking the herd or escaping the hunt. Prowl with the pride and run with the pack as you view lions, wild dogs, banded mongoose and other residents of the majestic African savanna. This bunk is geared toward 1st through 3rd grade students and supports Colorado Academic Science Standard 2.1 for 1st grade and 2nd grade

Rainforest Wonders (4th – 6th Grade)

In this bunk you will investigate the layers of the rainforest, as you travel from the forest floor up through the canopy. Learn about the amazing animals that inhabit dense tropical jungles, the interconnection of species, and how important conservation efforts are to these beautiful but fragile environments. This bunk supports Colorado Academic Science Standard 2.3 for 4th grade and 2.2 for 6th grade

Career Group (6th grade and up)

At this Bunk, your zoo safari will help you explore the world of zoo careers! What does it take to get a career in a zoo? Delve deeper into what some of these Denver Zoo staff members do every day with this Bunk with the Beasts overnight program.

Scout Group CampOUTs (June)

Bunk with the Beasts CampOUTS are overnight adventures for your scouts at Denver Zoo. You'll enjoy private tours of the Zoo, a campout dinner on zoo grounds, live animal encounters, and campfire treats.  You will then conclude the evening by camping out underneath the stars in our special safari tents! Dinner, Snack, Breakfast included

Scout Group CampOUTs: Dino! Safari (July - September) - This year only!

Do you have what it takes to survive a night amongst the dinosaurs? Step back in time, when these famous giants roamed the Earth as you join us for a special Dinos! Safari CampOUT. Worried you won’t be able to see the Utahraptor hunting in the night? Your safari guide will have night vision scopes ready as we explore the Zoo after hours to discover what dinosaurs and present-day animals have in common. This is an overnight adventure for Scout Groups. Your group will enjoy dinner, live animal encounters, and campfire treats.  You’ll end the evening by camping out underneath the stars in our safari tents, and enjoy breakfast in the morning before continuing your trek in the light of day! Dinner, Snack, Breakfast included

Group CampOUTs (June)

Bunk with the Beasts CampOUTS are an overnight adventure for your Scouts, Community Groups or School Groups at Denver Zoo. You'll enjoy private tours of the Zoo after hours, a campout dinner on zoo grounds, live animal encounters, and campfire treats.  You will then conclude the evening by camping out underneath the stars in our special safari tents and enjoy breakfast in the morning! Dinner, Snack, Breakfast included

Policies

Cancellations or Refunds

  • This is a nonrefundable program. We encourage you to find age-appropriate substitutes if your participants cannot attend. Your overnight adventure will take place in any type of weather. Outdoor activities occur “rain, snow, or shine” so please bring appropriate clothing and gear. If the Zoo must cancel a program due to weather, transfers or full refunds will be issued.
