Description: Troy Guard opened the subterranean Bubu in the summer of 2014 in the former home of TAG|Raw Bar on a stretch of Larimer Square known for high-end dining, not fast food. Bubu's service may be fast, but the flavors and ingredients are definitely high-end. You can either build your own bowl from a list that encompasses Pacific Rim flavors with a few Southwestern accents, or choose from several house combos off a menu packed with tempting options. Guard's signature Hawaii Five-O, an homage to his home state, with hearts of palm, fennel, shiitakes, and a choice of protein -- grilled steak, poached chicken or shrimp, tofu and raw tuna or salmon -- is typical of the options. All of the bowls can be built on rice, rice noodles or a salad of mixed greens. Add bubu -- crunchy, spice rice puffs -- to any dish for a burst of flavor and texture.

Description: Chop Shop Casual Urban Eatery, which opened this summer on a revitalizing stretch of East Colfax Avenue, is not your normal fast-casual joint -- at least not if your definition of fast-casual begins and ends with Chipotle. Run by Clint Wangsnes, a veteran chef with experience in Hawaii, Napa Valley and Miami Beach, the restaurant could easily moonlight as one of the trendy full-service spots that have taken over the city these past few years, with exposed brick and tables and booths crafted of wide-plank barn wood; even cocktails are batched and served with happy-hour nibbles such as sliders and hoisin-tamarind ribs. Wangsnes, however, decided to go in a more casual direction, adding an order line, glowing computerized menu boards and clip-on numbers to facilitate food delivery. And he did so because he wanted to serve a group that's barely tolerated, much less emphasized, by most restaurateurs: families, who deserve good food, too. And Chop Shop definitely delivers.

Description:  Helliemae's makes intense, complex confections in small batches. I started Helliemae's in late 2010 because I couldn't find the caramels I love on the shelves: super dark, almost bitter caramels with plenty of flaky, crunchy sea salt. Handcrafted postpunk DIY + Hell-on-wheels flavors = Helliemae's. From the original Classic Salt Caramels, Helliemae's products have grown to five year-round caramels and six limited-edition seasonal caramels, along with three caramel sauces and occasional other treats like banana pudding with salted caramel sauce, tart maraschino cherries, and a pecan praline crunch. All Helliemae's products are made by hand, and we choose the best ingredients. We select for flavor first, and we try to source local and organic where we can.

For decades, this block was home to the Bamboo Hut, a Mexican restaurant that made grease-dripping fried tacos; in contrast, the tacos on the menu at Los Chingones are little works of art, with quality meats and interesting toppings. But that’s just the start of the menu's delights. You’ll also find great guacamole, ceviche and an incredible roster of cocktails from a bar almost completely devoted to tequila. Grab a stool and enjoy the view of rapidly gentrifying Larimer through the giant windows on the ground floor, or head upstairs for more of a clubhouse ambience

Description: Vesta, the Goddess of the Hearth, is the most beautiful of Roman divinities, bright and pure like the flame that is her symbol. Latins made Vesta a goddess who personified the earth and fire. She presided over the preparation of meals: Vesta was offered the first food and drink. The hearth… conjures up visions of domesticity and peace, for the hearth is the traditional center of family life. It symbolizes warmth, security, and companionship a place for dreaming where it becomes possible by peering into the embers, to find physical and mental renewal and a place to discover the secrets of the future. At Vesta Dipping Grill, we have combined these themes to provide a unique dining experience. Vesta is simplicity, quality, comfort, life, art, scent, relaxation, taste, sound, and fun.

Address: 1044 NW Bond St, Bend, OR 97701

Description:Bend’s original brewpub, Deschutes Brewery’s Bond Street Public House has been a vibrant fixture of the downtown scene since 1988. Not only were our very first beers brewed here – think Black Butte Porter and Jubelale – but we quickly became a gathering spot for locals and visitors alike. While the beer speaks for itself through a total of 19 taps, our chefs also put the same quality and hand-crafted excellence into the cuisine. Our beer-centric menu features fresh ingredients, many sourced from local farmers, foragers and ranchers with whom the team has built strong relationships over the years. Most menu items are hand-crafted from scratch whenever possible, including sauces, sausage, breads, pizza dough and pasta. Several items are made with spent grain from the brewing process and beef burgers come from locally farmed cattle which are grass fed and finished on the spent grain. A classic English pub atmosphere, with a distinctly Oregon twist, come visit us and see where it all began.

Matt and Jessica Hess opened the award-winning River North Brewery in February 2012. Brewing out of the RiNo district of Denver, Matt focuses on Belgian-style ales and American ales with a Belgian twist, with an emphasis on barrel-aging.

A former engineer, Matt describes his brewing style as “yeast-centric,” showcasing his favorite ingredient in beer. In doing so, Matt pushes his beers beyond the norm, turning your palate on to the full spectrum of complexity imparted by Belgian yeasts. The brewery is located at the southern tip of the up-and-coming River North neighborhood of Denver, which is fast becoming one of the premier beer destinations in Colorado.Offensively Delicious? Description:Home to Wynkoop Brewing CompanyWelcome to the place where LoDo began.  In 1988, a band of urban pioneers, notably among them Colorado Governor, John Hickenlooper, took a shine to an unlikely building at the corner of 18th and Wynkoop.  They wanted to brew beer and foster community.  The place and the pioneers were an immediate success.  The small-batch beers and the hearty fare replicated an authentic public house.  Today, we are honored to be known as a legend.  We work equally hard to respect our heritage and to remain relevant in our beautiful Denver home.
