The "Wildest" Classroom in Denver!

The Denver Zoo offers many education programs for your school group. We are committed to educating students about animals, their habitats, and how humans can help to protect and conserve the world's natural resources.

  • School programs are offered for PreK through 12th grade students.
  • All school programs align with the Colorado Model Content Standards.
  • Zoo scholarships are available to qualifying schools through the Red Apple Fund for education programs (not available for self-guided field trips). Once your application is accepted, the Denver Zoo will book your program.

      The teen volunteer program, Zoo Crew, enables teens to learn about varied aspects of Zoo operations at the Denver Zoo.

  • HOME SCHOOL PROGRAMS
    The Denver Zoo now offers programming specifically geared to meet home school groups needs.
  • RED APPLE SCHOLARSHIP
    The Denver Zoo provides program fee assistance to schools whose federal free and reduced lunch population is at least 35 percent or more.
