Join The Rocky Mountain Chapter of the American Association of Zookeepers and Denver comedians Chuck Roy and Hippieman at the 12th annual Comedy Night.  We are dressing things up this year with the first ever Comedy Night White Party.  Wear your best summer whites and join us for an exciting and fresh take on our annual fundraiser.  Admission will include hors d’oeuvres and adult refreshments, a silent auction, live auction and two comedic performances! Enjoy the evening in the Conoco Zoo Gardens and Wildlife Theater at Denver Zoo.

Comedy Night helps the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the AAZK raise funds to support conservation work throughout the world. They support Denver Zoo projects in places like Mongolia and Peru while also allowing members dedicate efforts to places and animals that are important to them.  This year funds will be dedicated to nine conservation hot spots that are approved annually by AAZK chapter members. After twelve years, the event has raised almost $150,000 to support important conservation work around the globe.

2012 Comedians

Chuck Roy - Celebrating 20 years as a stand-up comic, Chuck Roy grew up in New Hampshire and started telling jokes in Boston’s theater district in 1992. A familiar face across the Front Range, Chuck can often be found at Denver’s Comedy Works or hosting evenings at Film on the Rocks at Red Rocks Amphitheater. Known as the stand-up comedy performing “Bear,” he is a perfect fit for Denver Zoo’s Comedy Night fundraiser.

Hippieman - John Novosad, a.k.a. “Hippieman,” grew up in Boulder, Colorado - which is the perfect place to be from if you’re Hippieman. He made his comedic debut sometime around 1980 at the Blue Note in Boulder. John has toured extensively over the years and continues to do so. He is a featured performer at The Comedy Works, made his network television debut on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, has written a screenplay – Hippieman: The Movie, and is currently working on a comedy pilot. In the future John will continue to perform and develop Hippieman’s Plan for America – comedic solutions to our nation’s problems. And be happy.
