If you’ve ever dreamed of getting nose to beak with a penguin, smelling the fish on a sea lion’s breath, seeing the world from a giraffe’s point of view or getting the insider's scoop on elephants, then Animal Adventures at Denver Zoo are for you.
Animal Adventures provides guests with a one of a kind experience by combining up-close animal encounters, intimate keeper interactions and guided tours. Three unique types of adventures are available (MEET AND GREET, ENCOUNTER, EXPERIENCE) with a variety of animal ambassadors.
Initiated by a Denver Zoo docent volunteer, a Veteran of World War II, this program was designed to honor and support a new generation of veterans and their families. These 90-minute guided tours, will engage families of veterans in a fun-filled day exploring Denver Zoo together. Tours are free for veterans and participants in the tour receive discounted zoo admission of $6.00 per person. Military ID required. Advance registration of at least seven days and pre-payment is required. Availability is limited. Call 720-337-1494 with the contact name, phone number, preferred date, number in the immediate family and ages of children participating. Tours begin at 10:30 a.m. and end by noon. 24-hour advance cancellation notice is required for a refund.
A variety of guided tours are available for school groups coming to the zoo for a field trip. Trained volunteer docents will lead your group on a journey to explore the wonders of animals and the living world. All tours are aligned with Colorado Academic Standards.
