Chang Pa Wildlife Preserve
Chang Pa Wildlife Preserve will be home to Asian elephants, Indian rhinos, Malayan tapirs, sarus cranes and white-cheeked gibbons. As you enter the Preserve, you'll view an intimate habitat that will provide a special home for Malayan tapirs. The habitat will feature a large pool for the tapirs who love to swim.
As you leave the tapir habitat, you will stroll along a boardwalk with a view of the The Monfort Family Habitat in the Preserve. You may see elephants, Indian rhinos or Malayan tapirs in this area as they rotate among the five large habitats in Toyota Elephant Passage. The Monfort Family Habitat will feature large deep pools for wading and swimming, an elephant-sized shade structure, a termite mound and even a hot tub for cooler days! As you walk along the boardwalk through the Preserve, you will see acrobatic gibbons swinging from tree-to-tree directly overhead on a series of island habitats. Guests throughout the zoo will be able to hear these vocal primates as they call to one another from their island homes. Before you leave the Preserve, you’ll see the elegant sarus cranes spreading their beautiful wings.
