Learn

As a leader in conservation education, we understand that experiencing AWE is often the first step in becoming an ally! From Nature Play and Safari Camps to school field trips and Zoo-to-You classroom visits, we cultivate wonder on a daily basis.

👑 Meet Indy, the queen of our Forest Aviary!

At 45 years old, Indy the Egyptian vulture is one of the longest-lived birds at the Zoo and has called our campus home for more than 40 years, longer than Primate Panorama has even existed!

Egyptian vultures are one of the only bird species known to use tools. While she now receives daily care for arthritis and no longer participates in formal training, she enjoys a peaceful, enriched life where she chooses how she wants to spend each day, thanks to the love and attention of her Animal Care team.

Be sure to stop by the Primate Panorama Forest Aviary and see if you can spot Indy soaking up the morning sun or enjoying the misters on a hot day. ☀️
