Despite being the world’s fastest land mammal, the cheetah is globally vulnerable—with some regional sub-species currently listed as endangered and critically endangered. Affected by habitat loss and hunted for their distinctive spotted coats, cheetahs are also especially at-risk in the first three months of their lives, when their mothers must leave them alone to hunt.
