Mike’s Camera Shop Workshop

-During the photoshoot, we will be breaking up into small groups to allow for safe social distancing. ‍ 

50% of the proceeds from this workshop will go towards supporting the Denver Zoo foundation and its mission: Inspiring Communities to Save Wildlife for Future Generations. 

Your Wednesday evening pre-safari webinar will consist of tips and tricks for improving your composition, instruction on exposure, exposure value—and controlling depth of field in order to create stunning wildlife images.

Then, on Sunday, you’ll get a private walking tour of Denver Zoo.

In addition to joining you at the Zoo, your instructors from Mike’s Camera will be available to answer any technical questions and provide you with hands-on assistance and instruction to ensure you capture sensational images.

The following Wednesday night, we will meet online to share our favorite images and give one another feedback.  You will also be able to pick up a 12x18 print of your favorite image from your local Mike's Camera location!

• Your camera(s) with extra memory cards and batteries 
• A variety of lenses, from telephoto and zoom to prime and macro 
• Tripod/monopod; suggested, but not required 
• Water and snacks. Food and refreshments can also be purchased at many Zoo concessions 
• Hat to protect from the sun, sunscreen, light raincoat or appropriate clothing for the season 
• Comfortable shoes 

Photo Safari workshops are limited to 30 photographers. During the workshop, we will be split up into small groups of 10 or fewer. Participation is for those 12 years and older. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult 21 years or older.
