Initiated by a Denver Zoo docent volunteer, a Veteran of World War II, this program was designed to honor and support a new generation of veterans and their families. These 90-minute guided tours, will engage families of veterans in a fun-filled day exploring Denver Zoo together. Tours are free for veterans and participants in the tour receive discounted zoo admission of $6.00 per person. Military ID required. Advance registration of at least seven days and pre-payment is required. Availability is limited. Tours begin at 10:30 a.m. and end by noon. 24-hour advance cancellation notice is required for a refund.
A variety of guided tours are available for school groups coming to the zoo for a field trip. Trained volunteer docents will lead your group on a journey to explore the wonders of animals and the living world. All tours are aligned with Colorado Academic Standards.

Up-Close Animal Encounters provide guests with a one of a kind experience by combining up-close animal encounters, intimate keeper interactions and guided tours. Several unique types of adventures are available (MEET AND GREET, ENCOUNTER, EXPERIENCE) with a variety of animal ambassadors.
