PROACTIVE CARE FOR EVERY STAGE OF LIFE

Tender Transitions

JAI | Asian Small-Clawed Otter Baby

Little Jai is the latest addition to how we approach personalized animal care at Denver Zoo! The pup is part of our comprehensive animal wellness program intended to use regular welfare assessments to predict changing needs in every aspect of his life in his Village Hall home—nutrition, housing, enrichment and more—so that we can meet his needs through every transition.

Specialized Steps

BATAAR | Przewalski’s Horse Teenager

Bataar, one of the most charismatic members of the Przewalski’s horse herd who makes their home here, has struggled with severe bouts of laminitis—a painful inflammation of the sensitive tissue between the hoof and bone. Keepers have worked extensively with Bataar to participate voluntarily in regular exams, hoof trims, physical therapy and acupuncture sessions. Your donation of any amount ensures that our beautiful birthmarked boy, whose species is Critically Endangered, will trot into a healthy future.

Enriching Adventures

NGOZI | Spotted Hyena Golden Girl

At 23, spotted hyena Ngozi is in the Golden Years of her life. After losing her longtime mate, Kibo, earlier this year, Ngozi needed extra attention—and keepers responded in kind! To keep her engaged and healthy while enjoying LOTS of healthy treats, her care team has ramped up her exercise regimen with special hyena burpees and step aerobics. In her downtime, Ngozi loves to soak up the sun, nap the afternoon away and engage in training sessions with her keepers...all things YOUR donation makes possible!

Thriving for Life. Home for Good. Thanks to You.

Your donation of any amount ensures that ALL the animals who call Denver Zoo home
