At Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance, we see every day how diversity helps ecosystems thrive. Just as healthy ecosystems depend on a variety of species working together, strong communities grow when everyone feels welcomed, valued and supported. As a proud supporter of Denver's LGBTQIA+ community, we're honored to be a Zoo For All. We strive to create a place where everyone can connect with wildlife, nature and each other—not just during Pride Month, but all year long.Happy Pride from DZCA! 🌈✨
Every year, students from across the Denver area participate in our Student Conservation Showcase to share the conservation projects they've been working on all school year, and this year did not disappoint. 🌿 Meet Crystal Kline, a first-grade teacher at ALSUP Elementary School whose journey started right here at a DZCA teacher professional development program. Inspired by the idea that kids need to love the Earth before they can save it, she took her learnings back to ALSUP and started a Conservation Club. 💚 In just one year, her 22 student members have planted pollinator gardens, partnered with female park rangers at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal, launched a paper towel waste campaign, cleaned up their school grounds, and raised money to support conservation efforts. 🐾 Thank you to Crystal and every student, teacher, and school who showed up to share their incredible work. You are the next generation of wildlife champions. #StudentShowcase #DenverZooConservationAlliance #ConservationClub #FutureConservationists #SavingWildlifeTogether #EducationForConservation
All hail the queen! Happy 46th hatchday to Indy, our beloved Egyptian vulture and one of the most iconic residents at DZCA! 🎂 Born April 30, 1980, Indy is nothing short of extraordinary. The maximum recorded lifespan for an Egyptian vulture in human care is 37 years, and our girl is thriving at 46 with the grace and regality she's always carried. 👑 At DZCA, Indy is treated like the royalty she is. She enjoys temperature-controlled indoor access year-round, and when she does make an appearance outside, you'll find her holding court in the Primate Panorama Forest Aviary, where she has called home for decades. Her longevity is a testament to the exceptional, dedicated care she receives from her team every single day, and a reminder of what's possible when animals are truly known, loved, and cared for. Here's to 46 magnificent years, Indy. We love you endlessly. ✨ 📸 Photo Credit: Stephen Podrasky #Indy #EgyptianVulture #DenverZooConservationAlliance #DZCA #SavingWildlifeTogether
🐴 We were thrilled to show @5280.miles around DZCA! During his visit, the Denver Broncos mascot stopped to meet guests and say hello to some of our animal residents, including the sea lions, Przewalski’s horses, flamingos, penguins, Taji the clouded leopard, and the amazing animals of Tropical Discovery. Thanks for spending the day with us, Miles! We had a blast and of course... GO BRONCOS! 🧡💙🏈
