Zoo Pride

It’s a whole new pride!

Zoo Pride is Denver Zoo’s gift recognition society. Donors to Denver Zoo whose annual cumulative giving is at least $1,000 are recognized in this exclusive group. Zoo Pride donors get the satisfaction of knowing that 100% of their gift is tax-deductible and helps transform the Zoo every day.

As a sign of our appreciation for their generous gifts, Zoo Pride donors receive unlimited daytime admission to Denver Zoo, special invitations to programs and events throughout the year and a staff liaison to contact directly when planning a visit or when questions arise.

With great appreciation, we thank our Family of Donors for insuring Denver Zoo can continue its mission to secure a better world for animals through human understanding.

Zoo Pride donors support every facet of Denver Zoo's mission from outstanding animal care to educating the world’s next generation of biologists, zoologists, veterinarians and conservationists. Denver Zoo and Zoo Pride partners help to secure a better world for animals through human understanding.

Zoo Pride gifts are cumulative and can be made to a number of different designations at the Zoo. Some examples:

  • General operations
  • Conservation
  • Education
  • Benches
  • Carousel
  • Denver Zoo Scholarship Fund

Zoo Pride donors making a difference

Meet Bob Zupkus and Janet Burda

On November 1, Bob and Janet came to Denver Zoo and met Aztai, a resident Cinereous Vulture. After learning from Denver Zoo keeper, Stacy Johnson, about the unique animal care we provide for Aztai and the field work done in Mongolia by Denver Zoo staff, Bob and Janet elected to donate to the project and support the purchase of fledgling vulture tracking devices. Thank you, Bob and Janet for helping Denver Zoo make a difference for the wild Cinereous Vulture population in Mongolia!

Fun fact: Aztai was born in Mongolia and brought to Denver Zoo because she had a broken wing and was not expected to survive in the wild. Her name means “Lucky” in Mongolian.
