Colorado's oldest conservation bison herd is making history again. 🦬 This summer, DZCA and Denver Mountain Parks are expanding the Daniels Park bison herd onto grasslands they haven't roamed in over 150 years. This springEarlier this year, our teams fitted the herd with GPS collars and solar ear tags giving us real-time data on their movements as they explore new habitat on the Highlands Ranch Backcountry Wilderness Area and helping us protect one of the largest untilled prairie ecosystems on Colorado's Front Range. “Conservation is a team sport. It's as much about the people caring as it is about the animals and the environment.” — Dr. Jimmy Johnson, Senior Director of Wildlife Health and Conservation For generations, these bison have helped restore herds across Colorado and the United States. Now it's our turn to make sure they have the space to thrive for generations to come.
