It’s a season of cubs near and far. 🦁
We’re thrilled to share that our conservation partners with the Kyambura Lion Monitoring Project in Uganda are also celebrating new lion cubs this year. Moments like these remind us how deeply connected wildlife stories are, whether they’re unfolding here at Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance or in protected landscapes like Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Our lion cubs create a window into the wonder of wildlife for our guests, sparking curiosity, connection, and care for animals around the world. That same sense of awe fuels conservation efforts in the wild, where our partners are working to monitor and protect African lions and their habitats.
Together, these stories highlight the diversity, resilience, and importance of life on our planet.

This year, members of the Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance team are hitting the pavement for the Colfax Marathon, including Jack from our finance team, who’s training for the half marathon. Just like enrichment walks help keep Santiago mentally and physically stimulated, movement and fitness are key to keeping both people and animals healthy.
When you sign up for the Colfax Marathon, you can choose to run for DZCA and help raise vital funds to support animal care and wildlife conservation here in Colorado and around the world.
