Our Giraffe Encounter offers an intimate, up-close experience with our resident giraffes. In a small group setting, you’ll hand-feed these gentle giants, spend time in the feeding area, and hear firsthand from our giraffe experts as you get to know each member of the herd. Expect unforgettable moments, charming ossicones, and the occasional splash of giraffe drool.

$24.95 per guest
Kids 2 and under are free, but must be registered as a participant and share a food bucket with a participating adult.
The program fee does not include admission to DZCA. Admission tickets must be purchased separately.

RULES
You must check in 15 minutes prior to the start time of your encounter at the Giraffe Encounter platform entrance, located inside the Zoo next to the zebra habitat. Due to the exclusive nature of this program, joining the group late is not possible.
Kids 16 or under must be accompanied by a paid and ticketed adult.
FAQs
- Rescheduling
To reschedule your encounter, contact Guest Care at 720-337-1400. Changes are not permitted for less than 5 days from the encounter date. A fee of 100% will be charged for a missed encounter.
- Weather
The Giraffe Encounter will occur in all weather conditions if the Zoo is open. In the event inclement weather closes the Zoo, you will be contacted for a reschedule or a refund.
- Accessibility
This experience requires walking or standing for 30 minutes. Wheelchair accessible. Limited access for service animals near the giraffes.
