  • Camp Conservation

    This exclusive three-day summer camp designed for educators combines nostalgia and real-world conservation learning. Treat yourself to the WILDEST, most authentic educator experience in Denver, and walk away with new ideas and resources to take back to your classroom! Bring your teacher bestie or make a new one—animal or otherwise. Only three sessions available.

    LOCATION
    Two days at Denver Zoo + one day at Daniels Park, a Denver Zoo field conservation site. (Attendee provides transportation)

    1.5 graduate level credit through Colorado School of Mines included with registration!

    • Programming

      This three-day program includes animal experiences, access to experts, a day in the field with Denver Zoo conservation scientists, resources and connections to content for your classroom and daily breakfast and lunch, as well as opportunities to brainstorm and network with fellow educators.

      Included in this Teacher Professional Learning Program:

      • Immersive hands-on learning at the Zoo and at a local Denver Zoo field conservation site.
      • Connection with Denver Zoo conservationists, Animal Care Specialists and other experts, not to mention some really cool animals!
      • Networking and brainstorming with fellow teachers.
      • Lots of time outside in the beautiful Colorado sunshine—pack that sunscreen!
      • Graduate level credit through Colorado School of Mines (included in your program fee!)
      • Meals, Zoo treats and a special Denver Zoo souvenir.

  • Project-Based Learning: Boreal Toad

    Solve a real-world problem with Denver Zoo in this toadally awesome three-day workshop. You’ll dive into project-based learning and hop away with techniques for exploring authentic conservation problems in your classroom. Our boreal toad conservation project will be a jumping-off point for you to design your own teaching units. Sign up today before you frogget!

  • Phenomena in the Field

    Get your hands dirty as you conserve local habitats and connect with nature! In this one-day workshop at a Denver Zoo field conservation site, you’ll work alongside Denver Zoo experts to explore local conservation issues. Brainstorm how you can integrate conservation into existing lessons and join us as we discuss innovative ways to frame environmental issues, so students feel hopeful and empowered.
