Teen Advisory Board

Do YOU want to be a part of the FIRST EVER teen advisory group at Denver Zoo? Apply to be a part of this awesome group of teens that will help to inform and plan future and current teen programs, share insights regarding relevant issues, and promote awareness of teen driven happenings at Denver Zoo.

WHO are we looking for & WHAT’S the big idea?!

We are looking for teens who are excited about...

  • Working together to share the teen perspective and share their voice to make change at Denver Zoo
  • Planning, marketing, and facilitating events for their peers in their communities
  • Creating and implementing innovative strategies to help Denver Zoo understand and recognize the value of its teen guests
  • Collaborating with their peers to help shape the future of teen programs at Denver Zoo
  • Sharing the AWESOME things that happen at Denver Zoo through social media outlets
  • Learning what it takes to create a foundation for and to be a part of a teen advisory group

WHAT is expected to be a part of the council?

  • Must be able to commit to a year on the council (May 2018-May 2019)
  • Freshman (starting Fall 2018), Sophomore, Junior, or Senior (starting Fall 2018) in high school
  • Attend monthly meetings  at Denver Zoo (every 3rd Wednesday of the month @ 5:00pm-7:00pm – see full meeting list below) If you are unavailable for more than 1 meeting, we ask that they do not apply at this time
  • Attend a half day of training on Saturday, May 12th
  • Available to host two “after hours” events at Denver Zoo in addition to meetings (Dates TBD)
