- What kind of vehicle donations are accepted?
You can donate all types of vehicles—cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, recreational vehicles, campers and more!
- Will somebody come pick up my vehicle donation?
Yes! Vehicles for Charity will schedule a tow truck to come to your house or office to pick up your vehicle for free.
- What do I need for a car donation in Colorado?
Three things are needed to donate your car:
A clear title, which means a title with your name listed in the owner’s section, without an assignment or transfer to another person. All liens must be released prior to donating the vehicle.
Your car keys.When you call or fill out our online form, please have the title and current mileage on hand.
HELPFUL TIP: don’t forget contact your state Department of Motor Vehicles in order to find out how to properly notify them that you have sold the vehicle and transfer liability.
- Can you get a tax deduction with your car donation?
Yes! With a vehicle donation, the IRS allows you to claim a tax deduction of:
The value of your vehicle, up to $500; or
The amount for which we sell your vehicle, if more than $500.Please consult a tax advisor to determine your tax benefit for your vehicle donation.
- How long will my vehicle donation take?
The process is quite simple, and can usually be completed within 5–10 days.
- How much is my car donation worth, and how much of that will be donated to Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance?
We won’t know the worth of your car until we go through the process. Denver Zoo’s donation is based on a % of the car’s worth.
