Up-Close Looks: Animal Ambassadors

Choose which group of charismatic animal ambassadors you’d like to meet

Don't miss this exciting opportunity to meet a variety of Denver Zoo’s Animal Ambassadors—choosing from brilliant birds, rockin' reptiles and marvelous mammals. Our Animal Ambassadors participate in training demonstrations, school visits and pop-up animal demonstrations; you'll learn from our experts about how these smaller animals make a mighty big impact with their unique personalities and individual characteristics! We cannot guarantee a specific animal, but every possible combination is pretty...well...WILD.

PLEASE NOTE: your party will have the chance to meet up to three animals from the selected experience of your choosing. Specific animals are not guaranteed.

Birds of Prey: Hawk, owl, kookaburra or tawny frogmouth
Reptiles: Turtle, tortoise, snake or lizard
Wild Card: Let the keepers choose for you! Meet one from each category below:
- Birds: Hawk, owl, parrot, kookaburra or tawny frogmouth
- Reptiles: Turtle, tortoise, snake or lizard
- Mammals: Tamandua, porcupine, armadillo, Patagonian mara, tenrec

Wild Card experiences will not include: penguins, flamingos, large carnivores like lions and tigers, primates or larger mammals like elephants or rhinos. For a complete listing of other experiences, click here.

PLEASE NOTE: This experience includes exclusive interactions with animal care experts and the ability to see animals that live behind the scenes. Due to safety regulations, guests will not have direct contact with the animals.

Restrictions

Masks are required for Up-Close Looks. Neck gaiters and bandanas are not accepted. For certain Up-Close Looks, Denver Zoo approved surgical masks may be provided for you for the health of our animals. For their safety, we are unable to provide medical exemptions at this time.
You and your group must be willing to use provided hand sanitizer throughout the experience.
Program is for up to 6 total individuals.
This experience is not recommended for people with airborne nut allergies.
All program participants must be at least 6 years of age or older.
Program fee does not include admission to Denver Zoo—admission tickets must be purchased separately. You must have general admission tickets for the date of your experience prior to purchase.
This experience is non-refundable and nontransferable.
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a paid participant that is 16 years of age or older.
Denver Zoo reserves the right to re-route or cancel any tour due to animal health or safety concerns. In the event of cancellation, efforts will be made to reschedule you on a later date.
This Up-Close Look will occur rain or shine.
Plan to check-in at the Zoo at least 30 minutes before the start of your encounter. Late arrivals cannot be accommodated
