Oh baby! We thrilled to welcome our very first Critically Endangered Somali wild ass foal! Born January 14 to mom Daisy and first-time dad Kamowa, this energetic little one has already become a beloved member of our animal family.

With fewer than 150 Somali wild asses left in the wild, every birth is a big win for this Critically Endangered species. Our herd of four at DZCA is helping protect these incredible animals.

Weather permitting, you might spot this spunky foal on your next visit! See her in our latest Baby Bulletin, presented by @intermountain.

Meet our stunning Bali mynahs, one of the rarest birds in the world.✨ These Critcally Endangered beauties are known for their snow-white feathers, striking blue eye patches, and their ability to imitate the sounds of their surroundings!
