Zoo to You: Private Virtual Programs

Connect with Denver Zoo's educators and animals LIVE from habitats around the Zoo, via a tablet, computer, or phone. With programs for every age, your group will go WILD for virtual resources that bring real-world science and the zoo to you.

Program Information

Early Childhood

Movin' and Groovin' (Ages 3 - Grade K)

Learn how and why animals move in different ways through role-playing exercises. Meet and observe animals that move in various ways.

Elementary

Animal Academy (Grades K-2)

Join the fictional Animal Academy as new recruits and earn your Spots and Stripes badge! Your mission?  Explore animal adaptations, ecosystems, and lifecycles by making observations, asking questions, and finding connections! Animal Academy Virtual Event dates coming soon! Animal Meet & Greet: Science Skills (Grades 1-5)

Zoo educators introduce two live animal ambassadors and help students use science skills to explore the topic you choose: animal characteristics, adaptations for survival in native habitats, or animal care and training – including their unique personalities!

Bugging Out!: Bug Investigation (Grades 1-5)

Join your Denver Zoo Nature Guide on a virtual bug safari. See bugs in action and explore their homes

All Ages

Animal Habitats (all ages)

You don’t need to travel to explore diverse habitats of the world. Learn what makes a habitat a home and the animals you’ll find there in this customizable program. Featured habitat options include rainforest, wetlands, savanna, forest, ocean, desert, and mountains. Make it a series! Contact outreach@denverzoo.org for more information.

Scutes and Scales (all ages)

Could you defend yourself from predators? Explore reptilian survival strategies in a mock gameshow starring our scaly animal ambassadors.

Animal Meet & Greet: Wild Profiles (all ages)

Zoo educators introduce two Denver Zoo animals and explore their unique characteristics and personalities, through the lens of animal care and training. This program is easily adaptable to various groups and settings.

Virtual Program Logistics

  • Virtual program logistics, including login information, will be sent to registrant week of program.
  • Private Virtual Programs are limited to 30 participants.
  • Registered group must provide an adult representative to actively assist with participant behavior management and to moderate technology and discussion.
  • Presenter will login 15 minutes prior to program for introductions and setup with adult representative.
  • Preferred platforms include Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meets. We have the ability to work with schools and youth organizations to choose a platform that adheres to required safety measures.
